Listen up Millennial’s, want a permanent Instagram filter for your face? Then head down to Perricone MD for the ultimate goddess glow which will also press pause on your ageing.
Your late twenties is when you need to start looking after yourself on all levels – your lifestyle, diet, skincare, and finances all set you up for your next 10-20 years. This is the time when you need to start thinking about your skin and start using anti-age products because antioxidant production begins to slow down, ultimately leading to the the development of fine lines, wrinkles and uneven skin.
The new Pre:Empt Series from Perricone MD introduces his patentented Nrf2 Antioxidant Support Complex which helps to activate antioxidant pathways, putting them back into the skin. This is derived from turmeric, olive leaf, green tea, and cress sprouts.
The Nrf2 Antioxidant Support Complex awakens a naturally occurring gene within the body that improves skins own natural ability to combat oxidative stress and environmental aggravators. Unique to the OVM collection, eggshell membrane harnesses as a potent anti inflammatory ingredient used in combination with Retinol and a proprietary carrier system to create a bio-matrix technology that delivers a three dimensional ant-ageing effect.
The Exfoliating Pore Refiner £35
This toner gently exfoliates and clarifies skin to reduce pores with DMAE and fruit extracts. I was a little worried when I started using this because the bottle looks strong and medical, and there’s a warning to consult a physician if it irritates the skin. Like a normal toner, you apply to a cotton pad avoiding eyes. To my surprise this feels extremely gentle on the skin and doesn’t smell or feel harsh at all.
Skin Perfecting Serum £54
This serum resurfaces skin texture and helps combat fine lines with powerful anti-oxidants, including he highest concentration of NrF2 Antioxidant Support Complex and brightening Vitamin C Ester. I thought this would perfect my skin like most primers do by making it less oily and appear flat. I like my skin dewy and I was afraid this would give me the airbrush effect, but it is so soft, gentle, and like magic, it refines my skin without making it look one dimensional. The silky fluid absorbs straight into the skin leaving a cooling effect. Its also non greasy and makes the skin look brighter and more radiant.
Brightening Eye Cream £39
This eye cream combats dark circles, and its radiance-promoting antioxidants combined with caffeine fight puffiness. The peptides and DMAE prevent fine lines and dryness. I used this once but wasn’t the biggest fan. I have sensitive eyes so I am not allowed to try this cream. As soon as I applied this, it cooled my skin making it look brighter and feel more awake. I’m guessing thats the coffee. If your eye are isn’t sensitive I believe this cream would be amazing.
Oil Free Hydrating Cream £45
This moisturiser is my favourite from the collection. It can be worn day and night and its creamy texture absorbs easily into the skin to nourish skin. During the day it makes skin feel hydrated, super soft, and it works really well under makeup. I personally wouldn’t use the same moisturiser at night but this stuff works amazing as a night cream because its so gentle and hydrating. This cream is formulated especially to improve antioxidant support and moisture-binding Hyaluronic Acid and nourishing Vitamin B5.
This new Pre:Empt Series from Perricone MD has really surprised me and definitely surpassed my expectations. I am in my mid 30s but I have been told that I have the skin of a 27 year old so I wanted to test it on myself to see if it would make any difference, and it really has. The collection is serious stuff – the packaging is strong, medical, and means business. The products are gentle, use natural ingredients, yet the science behind them is so clever that they seem to work differently from your average premium beauty brand. This collection refines skin, smooths skin, subtly mattifies to smooth out fine lines yet still makes skin glow. I would highly recommend it to people in their 20’s, but also people in their early 30’s who have very little signs of ageing like fine lines and dark circles.
