Listen up people, sunscreen, especially for your face is essential, always, and not just for the summer.
As my skin is sensitive, I find it really hard to find sun care that doesn’t irritate my skin, especially if it’s getting hot. I have tried a few different brands over the years and currently using Green People which is organic, cruelty free and made with sustainable packaging that is plastic free. I love it!
Green People’s scent free sun lotion SPF 30 is specifically designed to care for sensitive skin and is naturally free from synthetic fragrance and essential oils. Using Titanium Dioxide as part of its 3-prong UV defence system, it delivers broad spectrum UVA (causes ageing) and UVB (causes burning) protection in a skin safe formula.
If you suffer from Rosacea and Eczema, this is a great product for you, as well as those who suffer from Pickly Heat. I get it so bad when I am on holiday and normally in so much pain, I can’t sleep. Luckily, this range uses ingredients that don’t block your sweat ducts which are the main cause of prickly heat.
Green People uses soothing Aloe Vera at the core of its sun lotions. It’s also uses around 200 non toxic additives including enzymes, vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants to help soothe, hydrate and protect sensitive skin. These are all then blended with Green Tea, Rosemary, Myrrh and Edelweiss for further protection.
The ingredients are all 100% Reef and Ocean safe too. Products are free from the ingredients commonly found in suncare such as Oxybenzone, Oxinoxate and Zinc which are destroying and causing problems to marine wildlife. They chooses to use Titanium Dioxide which acts as a reflective barrier to UVB, Isoamyl and P-methoxycinnamate derived from the cinnamon tree.
Plant-based/Plastic Free packaging
Just when you think the products can’t get better, they do. The packaging is made from recyclable, renewable sugar cane packaging, farmed on sustainable land in Brazil that is completely carbon-neutral.

I love using this facial sun cream. It’s really mild, blends well with my moisturiser and absorbs in easily, without making my face go white. I am able to apply makeup on top and it doesn’t sit on the skin or feel greasy at all.
As well as all the above, the cream contains Anti-ageing Avocado & Green Tea protect and maintain collagen and elastin in the skin. 78% certified organic ingredients.
SPF30 Natural Sun Lotion (£22.50)
This contains all of the above and 84% certified organic ingredients. It’s scentless, non greasy, absorbs instantly, however, it does make the skin go slightly white if you apply too much. The cream doesn’t sit on the skin, or transfer on clothes which is great and you don’t feel it after applying like a lot of other sticky sun creams. The bottle is huge too so it will last all summer.
